T-28a TL-613 1954

On this slide a T-28a with the number TL-613 17613. On the tale the emblem of 'Air Education and Training Command' and the indication Marana, being Marana Air Force Base. Sikko didn't fly this particular plane. He flew 30 times the T-28a from 27th September 1954 until 02th November 1954. On 01th October the first solo flight with this type of plane. He was stationed at 3530th Sturon at that time, though the last two flights on 1th and 2th of November he was stationed at 3531th Pilot Training Squadron.

Op deze dia een T-28a met het nummer TL-613 17613. Op de staart het embleem van "Air Education and Training Command' en de naam Marana, inhoudend dat dit toestel toebehoorde aan Marana Air Force Base. Sikko heeft niet met dit specifieke vliegtuig gevlogen, wel met dit type. Hij vloog 30 keer met de T-28a in de tijd van 27 september t/m 02 november 1954. Op 1 oktober had hij de eerste solo vlucht met dit type toestel. Hij was toen gestationeerd bij 3530ste Sturon, maar de laatste twee vluchten op 1 en 2 november was dat bij het 3531ste Pilot Training Squadron.

On this slide was written 't-bird refuelling Bryan'. This T-33A TR-765 18765 is photographed around 1955. In the background another T-33A with the tailnumber 18980.'In Sikko's log there's no mentioning of the TR-765, so he didn't fly this one. Perhaps he did with the 18980, but we don't know the TR nr of that one.

Op deze dia was geschreven 't-bird tanken Bryan'. Deze T-33A TR-765 18765 is gefotografeerd rond 1955. Verderop nog een andere T-33A met op de staart nummer 18980. In Sikko's logboek komt de TR-765 niet voor, met deze heeft hij dus niet gevlogen. Misschien wel met de 18980, maar daar weten we het TR nr niet van.

Pitot cover removed

To all the readers a happy new year. In this picture two flares, seemed appropriate to publish right now. Probably taken during a flight around November 1954, but we don't know for sure.

Alle lezers een goed nieuw jaar gewenst. In deze dia twee lichtkogels, wel geschikt om nu te publiceren. Waarschijnlijk gedurende een vlucht in november 1954 geschoten, maar dat is een beetje gissen.

Written by this slide from 1954 - 1956 is: makes for good chow Bryan  As we google we find a Texan restaurant on 3204 S College Ave, Bryan,  TX 77801. So far we're unable to tell if this is indeed the same spot. Perhaps we'll learn more in the future.
