From Holland to Amerika or visa versa

This slide was taken at my presumable arrival in 1954 in New York. But it might have been my departure from America, up till now it’s a mystery. I’ve started my education in America at 16th January 1954. On the 21th July 1955 my tour was finished and on the 8th of August 1955 I was stationed in Volkel The Netherlands. I took a slide of the harbor of Amsterdamtoo.

Deze dia is genomen bij mijn vermoedelijke vertrek in 1954 naar New York. Maar het kan ook bij mijn vertrek uit Amerika zijn, tot nu is het een mysterie. Ik ben begonnen met mijn opleiding in America op 16 januari 1954. Op 21 juli 1955 was mijn detachering beëindigd en op 8 augustus 1955 was ik gestationeerd in Volkel in Nederland. Ik heb ook een dia van de haven van Amsterdam.

Some real R and R! This picture was taken in Los Angeles Hollywood. The beautiful girl in the picture is Ruth Williams. My relatives haven’t been able to find anything about her yet, nor where this picture was taken. But who knows? They might get into contact with someone who knows.
