Slide taken during a flight. In the log there's a flight mentioned from XC Marana-Superior-Gila Bend-Marana. You'll fly over CasaGrande. At that time it was flown in a T6G (TA-758) with instructor J. Barrett on the 27th July 1954, so perhaps that's the date of the picture...who knows.

Dia genomen tijdens een vlucht. In het logboek wordt melding gemaakt van een rondje XC Marana-Superior-Gila Bend-Marana. En in dit rondje vlieg je dan over Casagrande. Dit gebeurde in een T6G (TA-758) met instructeur J. Barrett op 17 juli 1954, dus misschien is dit de datum van de dia...wie weet.

Hotel Plymouth on 49th Street New York in the year 1954, probably January. Arrival with, as we've been told, three Aviation Cadets. As from 16th of January stationed in the U.S.A., we estimated time of arrival around 30th January 1954. Hotel is gone now.

Hotel Plymouth, 49 Street in New York, dia is genomen in januari 1954. Gearriveerd, zoals ons is verteld, met drie Aviation Cadetten. Gestationeerd vanaf 16 januari in de U.S.A., vermoedelijke aankomst rond 30 januari 1954. Het hotel is er nu niet meer.

Don't know for sure, but this is probably Marana Air Force Base 1954.


Geen idee wie dit zijn of waar de dia is genomen, maar vermoedelijk Marana Air Force Base 1954.

Another part of Sikko Steen's family's history

Today, 14th of April year 2012 we visited the brother of Sikko Steen. The conversation about needlework resulted in the find of this work, made by his mother. She was 9 at the time and as it has been made on the 4th of April in the year 1912 it's just to much of a coincidence to let this pass: 100 years old.

Vandaag, 14 april 2012, bezochten wij de broer van Sikko Steen. Het gesprek ging over borduren waarbij bijgaand werk werd opgezocht, gemaakt door zijn moeder. Ze was 9 jaar oud destijds en aangezien het is gemaakt op 4 april 1912, was dit net even te toevallig om het voorbij te laten gaan: 100 jaar oud.
